Why do some people have allergies while other people don’t?

According to experts, the answer to this question lies in our genes. An individual with family history of allergies has high risks of suffering from allergy attacks. When parents are allergic, in one out of every three cases it has been found that their children also get allergy attacks. However, this doesn’t mean that the allergic symptoms will be triggered by the same allergen. The substances that will act as an allergen to you, depends upon your own genetic composition. Age is also a big factor when it comes to chances of getting allergies. The late teen is known as the most vulnerable age as far as allergy is concerned.

It has been seen that people who manage to prevent exposure to allergens from a very early age can stay away from this complication in spite of having family history of allergies. Things become easier if you can find out the allergens that trigger allergy symptoms in you.

Other than the above-discussed points, many new theories are also there to decide why some get allergy attacks and some don’t. A recent research suggested that kids who live with dogs from a very young age develop a better immune system. Thus, they have less risk of getting affected by allergens.
