It has been seen that many people have allergic symptoms due to their exposure to pet urine or saliva. However, the most widespread form of pet allergy is the one which is triggered by pet dander. The symptoms include itchy eyes, severe sinus problems, sneezing etc. Let us find out why a person suffers from these complications.
Pet dander can be defined as loose skin flakes shed by your pet. This allergy is triggered both by the dander and the saliva that gets in contact with the dander as the animal licks its skin. If your pet is with you for a long time, the entire house must be filled with its dander. However, it’s a fact that occurrence of dander in pets is not abnormal. It happens when the epidermis renews itself. This renewal process takes 21 days to get accomplished. During this phase the dead cells scatter in the environment in form of dander.
You can cut down the duration of the renewal by taking good care of your pet. Pets that are groomed frequently have more rapid epidermal turnover. When groomed well, instead of 21 days some pets even take just 4 to 5 days to complete their skin renewal process.
