Side Effects With Antihistamines

When taking Antihistamines you will discover that there aren’t a lot of them but you should still know what they are and how to possibly avoid having side effects.

If you know that you are already very sensitive to medications, chances are you will be that way with Antihistamines. The regular side effects come with this medication. People often will experience fatigue or sedation. The scientists are working hard for the medications to not cause drowsiness but a lot of them still do.

When you are new to taking Antihistamines you should follow these simple guidelines until you know that you won't get any reactions.

- Pay attention and find out how often you struggle with drowsiness. People might feel tired and unable to stay awake. Write down how many times you feel this way and for how long.

- If you are tired, never drive or do other things that involve machinery. Some people should not work depending on their job because it could be putting your life in danger.

- While on Antihistamines don't have any alcohol. Taking painkillers or drinking will only cause it to get worse.

- It's best taking Antihistamines around bedtime. That way you can get a good nights sleep and not have to worry about drowsiness.

- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before you take any Antihistamines.

- Never mix any kind of drug together or medications without your doctor knowing it first.

Some people start feeling better within just a few hours while others it might take them longer before they feel any major difference.
