Can the skin have allergic reactions?

Most people that suffer from allergies also develop the bothersome and uncomfortable hives and rashes that generally go hand in hand when a person experiences allergy reactions. Many allergies have symptoms like hives and skin rashes including food allergies, pet allergies, seasonal allergies, and allergies to fabrics such as wool.  Most of the times these symptoms can be relieved with over the counter medications such as ointments or creams. These topical medications contain ingredients that have been proven to relive the itching and inflammation often associated with skin allergies.

There are many people that suffer from this problem and the main reason for this is the over production of histamines. This over production of histamines poisons the system and results in hives, allergy attacks and skin rashes.  The way these histamines are battled is to take antihistamine medication, that is able to block the histamines and they are then rendered useless in creating an allergic reaction.
