Why are some people allergic to animals?

One of the most common allergens is pet fur. This is especially bad if there are children in your home that are always petting the family pet. Allergens are absorbed by the skin, which triggers allergic reactions. In addition, when petting any animal in your home their fur flies everywhere attaching itself to you and your furniture. This creates more work for you being an allergy sufferer. Having a pet when you have allergies means always running the sweeper, mopping bear floors, and dusting all the furniture. It also means that your pet or pets get a bath more often in order to fight the allergens.

The saliva from your pet also has allergens that are harmful. Therefore, when you pet licks you on the face or any part of your body, the saliva attach itself to your skin. The saliva then works down below your skin and can cause hives, swelling, and even rashes. Many people are allergic to pets for these reasons. If you love animals and have allergies, your best defense is to get shots from your doctor.

The cause of many allergies to animals is not the pet themselves, but the pollen found in their fur and allergens in their saliva. There are also tiny microscopic bugs that are found in animal fur and saliva.
